Semi-Private and Full Privacy Wood Fences

If you enjoy the visual appeal and pleasant smell associated with a solid wood fence, rely on Stronghold Fencing and Construction for professional design and installation services. A variety of wood fence styles – including semi-private and full privacy – and heights are available.

We typically use cedar or green-treated pine. Cedar tends to last longer than pine; however, the green treating process makes the life of both species about the same – 25 years. Wood fences require annual staining and proper care to avoid damage.

We use either metal posts or 4x4s to secure the fence during installation. We recommend using all metal posts due to superior longevity. When installing a wood fence, we use a process that increases the life of your fence and minimizes yard damage due to heaving. Heaving occurs when frost causes the concrete securing your fence posts to lift. Dirt then falls under the concrete and causes them to rise slowly from the ground. Since such movement will never occur evenly, a nice fence won’t stay straight for long.

Most installers only go down 3 feet, which is still within the area of frost. As frost goes down about 40 inches in our area, we dig deeper 48 inches – to ensure they’re secure and below the frost line. This means our fences hold up much better against wind and other weather conditions.
